Amarjiva Lochan Dr. Amarjiva Lochan : Conferred the Title of Ph.D - India and Thailand : A Study in Acculturation (University of Delhi)

Currently, Dr. Amarjiva Lochan is a visiting Professor at several Universities abroad, Editor of three international Journals and Newsletter.

He has also served as a Associate Professor in Ancient Indian History and Culture, Shivaji College, University of Delhi, Delhi Executive Board Member, IAHR (International Association for the History of Religions) under CIPSH, UNESCO President, SSEASR (South and Southeast Asian Association for the Study of Culture and Religion), IAHR Consultative Board Member, IASS (International Association of Sanskrit Studies) Programme Coordinator, Sanskrit Studies Centre, Silpakorn University, Bangkok Visiting Professor, School of Asian Studies, University College Cork (UCC), Ireland (since 2013) Visiting Professor, Research Institute of Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University, Thailand (since 2005).

He was awarded AK Narain Award for the Best Research on Southeast Asia, 2006.

He has great proficiency in English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Pali and also knows French, Thai, Khmer, Spanish, Bahasa and Tibetan without much proficiency.

He has lectured over 60 research papers at almost all the leading universities on Indian culture and religion related issues.

He has published over 35 articles in peer review journals, 5 books and 2 monographs.

He Has special research interest in the Indian vestiges in Southeast Asia especially Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia.

He has travelled worldwide (63 countries) for presentation, keynote addresses and lecture series.

He has worked with Dr. KV Ramesh on the Somaiya - Archaeological Survey of India - RSkS Project on Epigraphy in Southeast Asia. He was a Academic Adviser at Buddhist Film Festival 2009, conceived by Prof. John Solt, Harvard University in collaboaration with the World Fellowship of Buddhists.
