Heena Vijay Kumar Gavit: First time this prestigious award is being conferred on a political personality. Dr Heena Vijaykumar Gavit is a BJP Member of Parliament from Nandurbar constituency Maharashtra. She is a medical Doctor by profession, MBBS and MD and is at present pursuing LLB. This is her second term as a member of Parliament; in the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 she was the youngest MP.
She is the Chairperson of Committee of Women’s Empowerment. Attuned to emerging trends that shape our world, Dr Gavit continuously encourages her fellow parliamentarians both women and men to address the challenges and issues of women of India with an objective to forge a sustainable future.
We are privileged to confer on her the Dayawai Modi Stree Shakti Samman for the year 2018-19.
