Laina Raveendran Greene: has about 20 years of professional experience in telecommunications having worked with ITU, INTELSAT, SingTel, and served as: Secretary General of the Asia Pacific Internet Association (APIA) in Asia, Singapore’s representative to PECC Infocomm Advisory Committee, International Advisory Panel member of the Asia Pacific Development Information Program (APDIP), judge eMap Communication Awards, etc.
Through her consulting company, GetIT (www.getit.org), she conducted many telecom policy formulation and training workshops through UNDP/APDIP, ITU/ADB, South Pacific Forum, etc. for many countries in Asia Pacific. In her early consulting days, she assisted countries in the region during the GATT-Uruguay Rounds on telecommunication liberalization and was very involved in Internet Governance issues, including serving on the panel of experts at the World Intellectual Property Organisation on domain names and Intellectual Property issues. Most recently she served as external auditor to International Development Research Centre of Canada (IDRC) for its Pan Asia Networking Projects in Asia, and serves on the ITU World Telecom 2006 Advisory Program Committee.
